A delicious warming dessert perfect for using up the abundance of seasonal apples and blackberries!
Apple and Blackberry Crumble Recipe
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
Make the fruit filling. Peel and chop the apples into ½ - 1” chunks and place in a large mixing bowl. Separately, mix together the cinnamon, cornflour and Tate & Lyle Granulated Sugar. Tip the cinnamon mixture in with the apples and stir to combine. Finally add in the blackberries and stir to evenly mix through. Set aside whilst making the crumble topping.
In a separate large mixing bowl, tip in the oats, flour and butter and rub together until well combined and clumping together. Tip in the Tate & Lyle Dark Brown Sugar and stir through until evenly mixed.
Give the fruit one more stir, then tip into an oven safe dish. Press down into an even layer. Spoon the crumble mix over the top of the fruit, spreading it out into an even layer all the way to the edges.
Place in the hot oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. The topping will be golden all through, and some of the filling will be bubbling through. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve with custard, cream, ice cream or just on its own! Enjoy!
